The Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse New York, where NYSPEP's Office is located, is also scheduled for vacation.Please direct all Parenting Educator Credential inquiries via email to: credential@nyspep.org. NYSPEP Parenting Educator Credential
Important Announcement To All Credential Applicants
The next submission cycle is August 1st—31st. If you received an application packet prior to January 2014, please email credential@nyspep.org to ensure your application materials are up-to-date.2014 application fees have replaced the Pilot phase discount and are as follows: Tier I - $150, Tier II - $300, Tier III - $425, and Tier IV - $500. There are no scholarships available at this time. Applicants are encouraged to seek assistance through their employer, community- or faith-based organizations, or online fundraising platforms.
The Credential Workgroup will soon announce a new Credential Coordinator to replace Wyn Frechette, who recently retired. If you do not receive new information on where to submit your application by August 1st, please email credential@nyspep.org for instructions.

If the students who dropped out of the Class of 2011 had graduated, our economy would likely have benefitted from nearly $154 billion in additional income over the course of their lifetimes, according to the Alliance For Excellent Education. A February 25, 2013 headline in the New York Post reads, "High School dropouts cost $1.8 billion every year".

Theodore Gaensbauer, M.D. will examine trauma and memory from a developmental perspective. Learn how traumatic memories form and manifest in children under 18 months via preverbal memory capacities, and how trauma is remembered and exhibited in children with developed language and capacity for symbolic play. Effective therapeutic techniques will be discussed as well as the neurobiological mechanisms and implications for treatment.
